A diverse menu with specialty items unique to the Skycrest Restaurant will make your dining decisions difficult. You’ll have to plan another visit just to try something else.

“THE PIG TRAIL” is a scenic highway used by Razorbacks on their way to Fayetteville forRazorback Football and Tailgaiting.

With the development of the new freeway system, the famous Pig Trail is now a beautiful highway through the Ozark National Forest and the Boston Mountains. This page is pictures and descriptions of what is a beautiful Day Trip from Ozark, Arkansas,  where The Pig Trail starts through the Ozark National Forest to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. While this page is not completely finished, we will try to update it regularly and seasonally, so that you can enjoy our Sunday rides from the Historic Ozark Inn & Suites, ( Formerly Ozark Motel), up into our beloved Ozark Mountains.

The Pig Trail, Scenic Highway 23 takes you through the Ozark Mountains, filled with picture-taking views, and on into the peace and beauty of the Ozark National Forest where waterfalls spring from rock layered ledges and families of deer graze,  and then on to Eureka Springs, a unique historic town.In the spring and summer, small creeks and springs abound.

Beginning early in the Spring and riding late into Fall, many motorcycle Rallies and Tours begin their rides from I-40, exit 35 north – start of the Pig Trail. Several of these groups stay on Friday nights at the Ozark Inn, a mere 3 miles to the south.

Turner Bend

Turner Bend, the first stop on the Pig Trail. Great coffee, cold drinks, and BIG sandwiches made to order !! That ham and cheese on rye can’t be beat anywhere !  Being a real country store, there is a lot to see, and lots of good junk. Across the highway from the Mulberry River. Great shade trees and picnic tables !
Turner Bend on the Mulberry River has great fishing in the Spring and early Summer. You can take your Harley, pack your fishining rod and fish right off the back porch, as it were.
Turner Bend also rents canoes, kayaks, and is a great place to jump off for a picnic, as they have some sweet picnic areas.

On The Pig Trail and in the Ozark National Forest where waterfalls, creeks and springs run to the Mulberry River, is a great area for fishing, hiking and photography.

There is outstanding Canoeing and Kayaking on the Mulberry River, Spring into early Summer. There are a number of races and competitions on the  Mulberry River, in the Spring.The Annual Jungle Boater Canoe Race, River Boogie, and Ozark Challenge. AlsoArkansas Canoe Club School of Whitewater Paddling.

The Pig Trail
On The Pig Trail and in the Ozark National Forest, the opportunity for photographers is outstanding. Miles of country roads and hiking Trails. Old barns, log cabins, rivers and sunsets.

While The Pig Trail and in the Ozark National Forest  are great for Motorcycles Rallies and rides, Ther are a number of off road venues such as A T V s, Jeeps and dirt Bikes. and From time to time, we do see competition Sports Cars.

Fishing in the Ozark mountains, and along the Mulberry River

Fishing in the Ozark mountains, and along the Mulberry River and its tributaries is a wonderful experience both for the individual who simply wants some down-time to hike and fish alone, or as a weekend family experience that will be remembered and enjoyed by all.
The Ozark National Forest is alive with rivers and streams that have long held favorite secret fishing spots for generations of fishermen.

Turner Bend “Provisions” on the Mulberry River

Turner Bend is always a great place to start an early morning fishing trip, and pick up a cup of coffee and miscellaneous supplies, but it’s also a great place to stop when going up or down The Pig Trail through the Ozark National Forest. They have great coffee and cold drinks and they make some of the nicest sandwiches that you could ever ask for. Oh, yes! A great sandwich, a cold drink and walk outside and have a picnic next to the beautiful Mulberry River. They also have all your favorite snack foods, both healthy and otherwise and a nice selection of patches, bandanas, maps and other good junk you just have to have.
Turner Bend, with its picnic area on the Mulberry River has long been the choice of families in Ozark, Arkansas for picnics and Family reunions.

Mulberry Mountain Harvest Music Festival
September 11-13, 2008

It’s the ANNUAL Music Festival. The largest outdoor Music Fest in all of Arkansas.

Directions:  I-40 to Exit 35. Turn north on Scenic Hwy 23, The Pig Trail. It’s about 25 minutes north. You’ll pass Turner Bend, and the State Forestry Office at Cass.
Turner Bend is always an excellent place for a Rest stop. Picturesque, beautiful location on the Mulberry River. Great sandwiches and cold drinks. Reasonable prices.

Pig Trail Motorcycle Rally
The Annual Pig Trail Motorcycle Rally is held September 24-27 at beautiful MulberryMountain when the Autumn leaves are in full color. Don’t miss it! This EVENT brings bikers from all over the United States. Great Live Entertainment!
Lots of Vendors and terrific food.

Pig Trail Rallies and Rides
Spring Rallies and Fall Rides along The Pig Trail in the Ozark National Forest and Boston Mountains, are outstanding Events. For 10 months a year, the Ozark Mountains offer ever changing vistas and views.Spring fills Mulberry River and its contributaries with White Water, and makes fishing outstanding. Many groups, i.e. BMW and Harley Clubs are finding that Ozark Arkansas makes a great meeting place, and a base to visit the many attractions and beautiful roads and scenic highways located within 35 miles in every direction, from Ozark. Magazine Mountain, the Boston Mountains, Ozark National Forest, Altus and the Wine Country with its many Wineries, which warmly welcome Cycling Groups. Many of the Wineries have scheduled Special Events for Groups coming into their area. Ozark has a number of good Inns and Bed & Breakfasts, which are Bike-friendly and are reasonably priced for first class accomodations. Ozark has one of the finest BBQ restaurants in the country that will rival anything in Memphis or Nashville.
